The 50th Anniversary celebration of the Maryland Lottery kicked off right where it all began: under the whiskey and lottery sign at Costas Inn in Dundalk. Your kids might know Milkshake but Nestor knew them as a kid music critic in the 1980s as Beyond Words and went back to the New Wave 80s with Lisa, George and Mikel in his dreams for his 31st Anniversary celebration.
The Maryland Crab Cake Tour final stop of the year brought old friends together for the holidays at Costas Inn. John Allen joined Nestor in welcoming their old Dundalk High art teacher Joyce Bucci on to discuss her role with the band Beyond Words (and the Child’s Play logo) and how it tied back to the first punk rock band of Gina Schock before The Go-Go’s.

The 26th day of the Maryland Crab Cake Tour presented by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill, Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland led us to Westminster and the vaunted ‘cake of Rocksalt Grille and a beer on the farm at Farmacy Brewing in Reisterstown.
The 25th day of the Maryland Crab Cake Tour presented by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill, Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland led us on the ice cream path to Weis Markets dairy facility in Sunbury, Pennsylvania on a gorgeous day for a drive and a stop at Friendly Farms in Upperco and a beer nearby at Big Truck in Hereford. Nothing like eating fresh ice cream soft served off the line!
The 22nd day of the Maryland Crab Cake Tour presented by The Maryland Lottery, Goodwill, Window Nation and the Restaurant Association of Maryland was spent in Eldersburg with an incredible local journey with old friends. Mike McKelvin and Dante Liberatore own a restaurant and brewing company and shared their Carroll County life with Nestor. And John Maroon stopped by for three decades of sports tales about Cal Ripken Jr. and walking the Great Wall of China and the streets of Beijing together. Lots of delicious 1823 beer here and a toast to the late, great Vince Bagli and Chris Thomas.
