4. Cleveland Indians at Baltimore Orioles (Oct. 15, 1997)
Mike Mussina did all he could to win this Game 6, allowing just one hit and walking two Indians in eight magnificent innings in at attempt to give the Orioles a chance at a Game 7 in the American League Championship Series. The Birds offense scattered nine hits in seven innings off Tribe starter Charles Nagy but couldn’t score. In the end, the Orioles wasted 15 base runners before Tony Fernandez hit a solo home run off reliever Armando Benitez to beat the Birds, 1-0. The Orioles wouldn’t return to the postseason for 15 long years.
