10. New York Islanders at Washington Capitals (April 18, 1987)
Known by many as the greatest hockey game ever played, this was the fifth time in six seasons that the Caps had to face the mighty Islanders in the postseason and this was a Game 7 for the ages. Goalies Kelly Hrudey and Bob Mason lost tons of water weight during the game but never their composure on an Easter eve Saturday night that lingered well into the holiday and past 2 a.m. before Pat LaFontaine scored the game winner in the third overtime to gives the Isles a 3-2 win over the Caps.
