No. 7 Steve Wojciechowski (Cardinal Gibbons 1993) ­– Playing for legendary Ray Mullis, “Wojo” was the prototypical point guard that lured the eye of Mike Krzyzewski at Duke. But it was at a soccer game that Coach K came to watch his future assistant basketball coach play at Gibbons that began the love affair. Wojo starred on the soccer field as a two-time all-Metro pick, but his basketball prowess and court vision had not only Duke courting him but he was also heavily recruited by North Carolina, Vanderbilt, St. John’s and Wake Forest. He’s now the head coach at Marquette.
