No. 16 Tamir Goodman ­(Talmudical Academy 2001) – Dubbed by Sports Illustrated as “The Jewish Jordan,” Goodman wound up being a lot more hype than substance on the court over his years as a mythical figure in the local landscape of Baltimore high school athletes. After averaging 35 points per game for the Talmudical Academy, Maryland head coach Gary Williams offered him a scholarship but Goodman instead wound up at Towson State. The Associated Press summed up his career: “That scholarship to Maryland never came to be after a disagreement with the coaching staff. He instead attended less-glamorous Towson, where his career lasted less than two years. Goodman then signed with the Israeli pro league, playing for four teams in five seasons amid a succession of injuries.” But his run as a high school player was legendary.
