13. Billy Ripken

Overshadowed by his older brother and father in the history of the franchise, Billy was the entertainer of the group and has gone on to find success in broadcasting as a personality unafraid to speak his mind unlike the more reserved Cal.

Billy was compared to Ferris Bueller by Cal in describing him growing up and how he’d eventually be the one to keep a major league clubhouse loose, but it was the famous 1989 Fleer baseball card that keeps people talking even 25 years later.

Though he attempted to explain what really happened several years ago, Billy obtained fame when he posed holding a bat with “F–k Face” written on the knob and the card was mistakenly released and rose in value to nearly $500 at one time. Always more of a loose cannon than his more famous brother, Billy Ripken has shown more than enough personality to land on our list of local sports goofballs.
