Nestor Aparicio  00:33

about the Superbowl after having played in it 30 years ago and now seeing what this wasn’t like this one you played in it?

Marcus Allen  00:39

I like the anticipation guys of the game and everybody all the prognosticators you know trying to pick a team and but nobody really knows and we have to sit down and watch Well, this is a guy between the white lines will determine the game and I just hope it’s a it’s a fantastic finish like the USC Penn State game. Was that was a great that was a great game and you want people we don’t want any blowouts or anything like that was written for Penn State. I’m sorry. from Pennsylvania. Can’t everybody have good taste?

8

Nestor Aparicio  01:12

You’re here on behalf of Kay Jewelers, you guys are doing here. You got like this unbelievable thing. And what do

Marcus Allen  01:18

you call it thing? That’s a Super Bowl. I mean, that’s it. That’s an it’s a Hall of Fame ring. Yeah, man. Look at this. Kay Jewelers, man, that’s a design by Kay Jewelers. They’re celebrating their 100th anniversary guys and their partnership as well with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Nestor Aparicio  01:34

Can I take it out?

Marcus Allen  01:37

8

That’s That’s mine, by the way. And they’re celebrating their 100th year and in partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. And they come up with a clever way a fun way to support the organization by singing the famous jingle. Every kiss begins with Kay that’s very good. Thank you And early this morning too. So we want everybody to join us join me by going to Kay Jewelers on Facebook or Twitter and posted video using the hashtag sing for St Jude donations and for every video posted to be $100 donation up to $50,000 and it’s for the kids guys right now and if you guys are listening out there if you have great voice and the saying listening I have right of first refusal nice voice sign he was an agent you know I’ll be your agent. We may start a record label we have absolutely no people that know people. I can studios that I can get in get into so we’re good.

Nestor Aparicio  02:37

This is your real ring. I thought this was just like a no ring. Yeah.

Marcus Allen  02:43

Wait, you think I’m curious? Somebody else’s ring around?

Nestor Aparicio  02:46

I thought I just I thought your ring would be on your finger and this would be like not the real ring. This is beautiful. This is nice here. Marcus Allen. Look at that. Yes. Hall of Famer. Do you wear your ring? Do you wear it like

8

Marcus Allen  02:57

no i don’t i don’t i i put them away. There from my my little boy. Okay. Yeah. And family heirloom? Yes. Yes. Very cool. Well done. Yeah. That’s all right. What

Nestor Aparicio  03:09

do you make of the Raiders going to Vegas? We got to talk some football now.

Marcus Allen  03:13

Well, listen to it right. Guys, I will loot. You know, you always want to frame things correctly. Right. Think about the breath. Really? There was a reason they moved to Los Angeles. 1982. Sure. They wanted to stadium. Sure. So they’ve been trying to get a stadium for years.

Nestor Aparicio  03:38

8

Am I correct? As long as I’ve been alive, right? I mean, literally, right.

Marcus Allen  03:41

They play in one of the let’s call it a relic. One of the oldest stadiums in the league. I love that old dump and the Chargers as well.

Nestor Aparicio  03:50

Right? Or did chargers is past tense.

Marcus Allen  03:54

That’s right here. It will listen here. I mean, we’ll get back to the raiders in a second but San Diego I went to Balboa stadium, guys. Wow. That was before San Diego Stadium was yes. We’ll be standing stadium then was called The Merv then it was called the cos Yeah.

8

Nestor Aparicio  04:10

It was called the merkos was named after sports writer. Yeah, get it built.

Marcus Allen  04:13

Right. And his dog so just what you’re hoping. No, I just

Nestor Aparicio  04:17

I love all those stadiums. And I’m an East Coast guy spent. Love.

Marcus Allen  04:21

8

I love that stadium. Because I played my my first mic. When I was 10 years old to play the Pop Warner game at halftime of a charger game there. Yeah, that’s cool. My dad worked on the stadium. Very cool. Yes. And so did you see

Nestor Aparicio  04:35

Unitas play as a charger there?

Marcus Allen  04:38

Yes.

Nestor Aparicio  04:39

There you go.

8

Marcus Allen  04:40

Yes. Gold guy. So you know John Hayden was there when it’s all worth absolutely. I mean, it’s what made you want to football Gary garrison. All those guys man were phenomenal. Sid Gillman was the coach. Right? It was like they were like explosive. I mean, it was, you know, the AFL was was new and they had all those incredible players. And they were rate to watch. And you know, he’s watched the AFC West and the raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. And those are just great Broncos through the volume and rivalry, right? They thought about Yeah, a lot more than but they had, you know, they had Dickie post and a lot of guys like that. So it’s a shame, they’re leaving. And then now the Raiders are leaving. And it’s just, it’s a void. It’s an emptiness. That’s a blackness. Black Hole, I think and we’ll be in those cities.

Nestor Aparicio  05:26

I think it’s fascinating that the Raiders have talked about staying there as lame duck. We’re from Baltimore, right? So we’re very familiar with Mayflower vans and having to grovel to get a team back and, you know, civic tax dollars and lotteries paying for stadiums, but from our perspective, 21 years into having a team back, there’s there’s nothing quite like having a team and it feels like these California Cities. You know, we’re not gonna build it just just go. But how do the Raiders play a couple of years in that stadium knowing their league? I just don’t think that that’s, I saw what happened in Cleveland.

Marcus Allen  05:57

Fans will be there. You know, I don’t know what the, you know, the sentiment of the county and the people in the city will think you know, the administrators and, and people like that will think of that, but the fans will come? Well, they will be there and they will support them. And you know what? They will also travel to Las Vegas to

Nestor Aparicio  06:23

8

I thought the strangest thing was when the Rams went to St. Louis. I would go to St. Louis. We played a handful of games there over the years. And you’d see Jack Youngbloodz name on the side of a wall in St. Louis. And I know when the Colts went to Indianapolis, you know, Johnny Unitas and Tom that you know all those Baltimore Colts we see nothing. I’m not going to Indianapolis to put on a blue jersey and walk out in the middle of the Hoosier dome. If Mr. Donovan you know from that era, your names probably gonna be on the wall in Las Vegas. Literally. Right. I mean, like, you’re part of that. That’s just a weird thing. I think. You haven’t thought about that. Now. You have to

Marcus Allen  06:55

think about it. You can’t stand away your progress, man. I mean, it’s, it’s common. Yeah, there’s a lot of people that like we’d like for them to stay there. I know the live group would. He’s trying to do everything he can but I think the momentum right now is gonna be it’s heading towards Vegas.

Nestor Aparicio  07:12

Marcus Allen joining us here on behalf of Kay Jewelers. And every kiss begins with Kay

Marcus Allen  07:17

right? No, I didn’t want you to wrap it. Okay. We want you to sing it, dude. All right. All right, guys. I’m gonna count you down, right? No, no, no, no, no, you got to sing it. No. What are you talking about early I’ve been singing it since five o’clock. Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee Mee Oh my god. We’re gonna say the arpeggios every ivory met together in perfect harmony.

8

Nestor Aparicio  07:47

A little bit. That’s pretty good. All right, frigate 123.

Marcus Allen  07:54

Okay, that was pretty good. It wasn’t that bad. You know what, it’s early in the week and in the highlight, you know, that’s gonna top it. So you actually enjoyed that. You may be my, my first signing? Because I don’t know, did you actually hear my bio, I’m still trying to work on the name of

Nestor Aparicio  08:13

my record label, more enthusiastic. My record label is going to be called shwarma. Last but not least, who’s winning this game and this Tom Brady thing for a guy like you was great player in your own right, trying to get the one Super Bowl or to serve. Every year we come here. And it’s not right. And my stock thing this year is going to be what are they doing to cheat this year? That’s what I want to know that’s

Marcus Allen  08:38

8

on the way Come on, make it look listen here. Why don’t you just give credit to you know, an organization that it has done? You know, every everything almost by the book as you possibly can do I mean, let me think about it. I read something the other day. These made the most trades right than any other team and recent time draft a trade show. Yeah, man has his free agent have played more minutes than any other you know, team they get on the field. I mean, so we’re doing something right and I mean, and you know, whether it’s you know, defense, the parts change but yet guys, they come in and they play well they play together. I mean, it’s just a it’s just a great run organization. I know a lot of lot of people are jealous of them. But I mean, I Hats off to him. I mean, step seven and their dynasty do I mean how many this is or seven

Nestor Aparicio  09:38

super POTUS is ridiculous how many have to have

Marcus Allen  09:41

I talked to Bruce Smith all the time and it’s like you don’t guys you guys don’t get it man even though you guys didn’t win but going to force jitsu crazy is a phenomenal. Yeah. And then you look at this team. It’s like there’s seven Super Bowl. I mean, I got the one I’m very happy about that. But I mean, gee, that’s it’s impressed. I mean, There’s no There’s no jealousy a little bit of envy. I mean, what’s your

Nestor Aparicio  10:03

former against the fourth quarter on Sunday when you’re watching? I never really get

8

Marcus Allen  10:07

to anybody. Oh, well, okay. No, I don’t. Thomas Thomas, a friend of mine, I love him and I like Matt too. And you know, Kyle Shanahan kind of like those two bags, when he was a kid and now to see him, you know, doing such a great job and the possibility of him going to San Francisco. It’s just it’s great to see to me they’re fighting for relevance. And momentum and relevance is is two factors that I think you know, can take you to great places. I mean, because I mean, you look back has anybody ever taken them really seriously, they got to the playoffs but nobody ever thought they would advance and now they finally have and they probably still have the black eye from the last time they played in the sixth floor. And that was you know, actually two black eyes they got they get beat badly. The Broncos really badly and stuff and so you know, and a lot of people probably said they probably never deserve to be there. They’re not a great organization but things if you know, the owner has done a great job. The hearts will be great people in there. I think it’s it’s gonna be an interesting thing. I wouldn’t sleep on Atlanta, either. Yeah.

Nestor Aparicio  11:21
